Kader HK’s Gamorrean Guard is found on 65 & 77bk Kenner cards. Different combinations of dark/mid/light silver and painted/unpainted eyes will be available beyond what’s shown above.
Kader used large ejector pins to push the legs from the cavity, so look for the large circular imprints on the top front of the figures legs.
ACCESSORY: M1 Kader Axe with a small EPM.
UNITOY 1983 HONG KONG COO
Above you can see following variants (left and centre):
- Dark silver armour, soft yellow details

KADER (MACAU) 1983 MACAU COO
Above you can see following variants (right):
- Light silver armour, light yellow details
The Unitoy figure had a short release on the HT 65a/b cardbacks.
It is very difficult to differentiate the Unitoy version from the Smile HK version of this figure. If you compare the spray masks you’ll notice the Unitoy/Macau version has longer outer teeth. Checking for a parting line on the sole of the feet will help as the Smile figure has a smooth foot. The hips on the Unitoy version are also slightly darker.
Later, the moulds were moved from Unitoy in Hong Kong to Kader’s Macau factory. The H.K. COO was removed and stamped with a new “MACAU” COO where production continued and the figures were released on 65 and 77bk cards with the ME vendor code.
ACCESSORY:
M3 Unitoy Axe with silver painted blade and a moulded brown handle.
M3 Macau Axe with moulded silver blade and painted brown handle.

SMILE 1983 HONG KONG COO
Above you can see following variants (left to right):
- Dark silver armour, non-detailed face
- Mid-silver armour, detailed face
- Light silver armour (example of degraded green plastic), detailed face
- Light silver armour, non-detailed face
The dark armour paint application seems to be the earliest version from the HK based vendor, Smile. The green plastic used for this figure was highly prone to discolour to a dark green. It’s common to find Smile-made GG figures that have individually darkened limbs and others that have been effected completely.
The Smile produced figure is very similar to the Unitoy/Macau version. Refer to the Unitoy section above for some pointers to help differentiate between the GG’s from these three vendors.
An interesting variation is both HK and NCOO versions share two distinct head moulds that appear throughout the run. We’ve labelled them “detailed” and “non-detailed”. As you’ll see in the detail graphic below, the wrinkles across the GG’s cheeks varies considerably. There are minor torso and left leg heel variations between the cavities (Ref. images below).
In their production planning, Smile made the decision to leave the pupil unpainted exposing the moulded green plastic to represent the pupil. Read more on this production change in WOLFF’S MOULD/COLOUR VARIATION GUIDE
The L1b and R1b leg cavities feature a number “2” stamped on the sole of the boot. These stamps are not present on the any of the NCOO versions.
SMILE 1983 No COO
Above you can see following variants (left to right):
- Mid silver armour, detailed face
- Light silver armour, non-detailed face
- Light silver armour, detailed face, bright green skin
The L2b NCOO version doesn’t have the “2” stamp on the sole of his boot. It seems there was a decision to remove the stamp from the foot plate just prior to the NCOO figure going into production.
ACCESSORY: M2 Smile Axe with large EPM.

LILI LEDY 1983 NO COO
Above you can see following variants (left to right):
- Dark silver armour, light yellow details.
- Mid-silver armour, light yellow details
- Light silver armour, bright yellow details, degraded green plastic
Lili Ledy used a single cavity tool for their Gamorrean Guard figure. This mould wasn’t used elsewhere in Asia or Spain like many of the other figures in their line.
The dark armoured version of the Gamorrean Guard has been found on the early 14bk RETORNO cardback. The REGRESO and 65bk Kenner “Made in Mexico” releases featured the figure with either a mid or light silver armour.
ACCESSORY: M4 Lili Ledy Axe with a short handle.
